Update Rebuilding Efforts March 2018

There is only good news to share this month! We finalized work on the dock and deck right before the Regatta started, which got the sailors and visitors very excited, as they could get to the Club with their dinghies and watch the bridge openings. Of course we haven't finished the project yet and this past week construction has started again. This phase consists out of building another retaining wall, and a concrete platform looking out over the dock. This can be used for boat storage as well as seating. Once the concrete section is finished they will finish the wooden deck.

In the meantime we have also replaced the lights in the restaurant and some of the plumbing and electricity on the dock. This can only be finalized once the deck work is done.

The most exciting moment may have been last weekend, when we received the boats from England, which were collected through donations from a number of foundations and private individuals. We would like to extend a big thank you to the Andrew Simpson Foundation, Suzie & Roger, Lucy Jones, Stephen & Nancy Burzon, Reggie Butler and Debra & Austin Ferland for helping us make the fleet complete again!

Corinne and Rodger from Paradise Found, together with Stephen Burzon, have dedicated their efforts towards researching costs, type of trees and plants and much more to bring back the Club's landscaping on the shore side. We are looking at an estimated cost of $7,500 and are hoping to receive donations specifically towards this cause. We know that there are many members that love gardening and appreciate having a nice garden at the Club. If you are interested in donating towards our landscaping project please contact us!

We have currently collected $50,000 of the $305,000 that is required to rebuild our docks, premises and fleet, we hope our dedication to this project shows in the progress we are making. If you would like to support us in our efforts please donate here
