Caribbean Multihull Challenge
A new sailing event is going to take place in the brilliant waters of an island known for great sailing and great sailing hospitality. St Maarten will host its first annual Caribbean Multihull Challenge on February 8 – 10, 2019.
The Sint Maarten Yacht Club, organizers of this new Regatta, are acknowledging the rapid growth in the market for modern multihulls and the technological advances in the industry that enable these boats to be fast, safe and comfortable. The racing in this brand new event will be spirited, highly competitive, and full of fun surprises.
The Caribbean Multihull Challenge St Maarten will embrace the spirit of multihull sailors: adventurous, enjoyable and lots of camraderie, and accommodates all types of multihulls. “This event will welcome every multihull sailor, from Gunboats, Trimarans, to Lagoons, Leopards, Fontaine Pajot and Spronk boats, we will even throw in a Pirate Class so local charter boats with fun handicaps can race. The whole idea is to offer creative races that will put a smile to every sailor’s face. Combine that with post racing events and this will become a real hit in the Caribbean Racing Circuit!” states Steering Committee Chairman, Petro Jonker.
