Optimist Sailing Lessons back at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club

With the return of our instructor Reinier, sailing lessons have started again and, even better, with the reconnection to the concrete dock the Optimist lessons are back at the Yacht Club. The lessons on the RS Visions are still taking place at Kim Sha Beach, but with the continued construction efforts at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club we are expecting to have those lessons back at the Club after the St Maarten Heineken Regatta.

There are still some spaces available in the classes on Tuesdays (RS Vision Beginner/Intermediate), Fridays (Optimist Intermediate/Advanced) and Saturday mornings (RS Vision Adults). If you are interested or have questions about the lessons please contact Reinier at youthsailing@smyc.com.

Due several generous donations and logistical assistance, we are looking to add 2 RS Visions, 2 Lasers and a number of Laser Picos to the remainder of our fleet, bringing it back at full strength.

We have decided to postpone the Fun Sails and Dinghy Series until after the Regatta, with the arrival of the new additions to our fleet we have more options and we are then also planning to get back into racing with a racing clinic. More information to follow!
